You don’t have to fly fish to appreciate a Montana river. Our scenic floats are for anyone who wants to spend a few hours drifting the Clark Fork — watching the water, taking in the mountains, and seeing what shows up along the way. It’s one of the best ways to experience western Montana, no fishing experience required.

Your guide picks you up — whether that’s at the Clark Fork Trout shop in St. Regis or coordinated from your Missoula hotel — and takes you to the water. From there you’ll drift some of the most beautiful stretches of the Clark Fork, keeping an eye out for whatever the river decides to put in front of you. Elk, osprey, deer, beaver, river otter, black bear, and more species of waterfowl than you’ll be able to name are all regular sightings out here.
We offer a charcuterie board for full-day and half-day trips, and you’re welcome to bring a bottle of wine, a six-pack, or whatever you’d like to drink on the water. It’s a pretty good afternoon.
Full-day floats are $600 for 1–2 people. Half-day floats are $500. We can accommodate larger groups — just reach out and we’ll work something out.
This is a relaxed float. No casting, no wading, just drifting good water at a comfortable pace. Your guide will row, point out wildlife, and share what they know about the river and the country around it. Trips run on the Clark Fork through Mineral County, one of the less-pressured stretches of river in western Montana.
Scenic floats are great for all ages, non-fishing partners, families with kids, or anyone who just wants a memorable few hours on the water. If you’re planning something special — a proposal, a birthday, an anniversary — we’ve pulled those off too. Just let us know ahead of time.
Your guide takes care of everything on the boat. Here’s what to bring on your end:
Layered clothing appropriate for the weather. Mornings on the water can be cool even in summer, and conditions change. A rain jacket is always a good idea.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. A few hours on the river means a few hours in the sun.
Your beverage of choice. We provide the charcuterie board — you bring the wine, the beer, or whatever sounds good to you.
Any additional snacks if you have preferences.
Full-day scenic floats are $600 for 1–2 people. Half-day floats are $500. Both include a charcuterie board. A 50% deposit is required to hold your date, with the remaining balance due the day of your trip.
We can coordinate pickup from Missoula hotels — just mention it when you book and we’ll sort out the details.

Cancellation Policy: We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if your plans change. Cancellations made more than 45 days before your trip date are eligible for a deposit refund. Within 45 days, the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations within 2 weeks of your trip date are charged the full trip amount. We appreciate your understanding.
Where do we meet? We meet at the Clark Fork Trout shop at 715 Hwy 135 in St. Regis. We can also coordinate pickup from your Missoula hotel — just let us know when you book.
Is this trip family friendly? Absolutely. Scenic floats are great for all ages. If you’re bringing little ones just let us know and we’ll make sure everything is set up for a comfortable day on the water.
What wildlife might we see? The Clark Fork through Mineral County is home to elk, white-tailed deer, black bear, river otter, beaver, osprey, and a wide variety of waterfowl. Sightings vary by season, but there’s almost always something worth stopping for.
Do you provide food? We provide a charcuterie board on all scenic float trips. You’re welcome to bring your own wine, beer, or beverage of choice to go with it.
Can I plan something special like a proposal or anniversary? Yes — and we love doing it. Just reach out ahead of time so we can help make it happen the right way.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies? Just let us know when you book and we’ll make sure the charcuterie board works for you.
Can I bring a larger group? Our drift boat accommodates 1–2 people at the base rate. For larger groups, reach out and we’ll coordinate additional boats and guides.
