The Clark Fork through Mineral County doesn’t see the boat traffic you’ll find on more famous Montana stretches — and that’s exactly why we love it. Less pressure means better fishing and more room to breathe. We run half and full-day floats out of our shop in St. Regis and go wherever the fish are that day: the Clark Fork, the Blackfoot, the Bitterroot, or the St. Regis during its short spring window. The guides know these rivers well, and they’ll put you on the right one. Whether you’ve been throwing a fly for decades or you’re just getting started, we’ll meet you where you are.

Not every great stretch of water requires a drift boat. Wade trips put you on the Clark Fork and the St. Regis River with your feet in the water. Your guide is right there with you the whole time, reading water, helping you position, and putting you on fish. All flies and gear are taken care of, and lunch on the stream bank is part of the deal. It’s a great way to slow down and really get to know a stretch of river.

Every May, Clark Fork Trout packs up and heads to Craig, Montana — and for good reason. The Missouri River below Holter Dam is one of the most productive trout fisheries in the country, with roughly 3,000 fish per mile and reliable hatch activity that keeps trout looking up all day. May brings Pale Morning Duns, Blue Wing Olives, March Browns, and caddis to a spring creek-style tailwater where the conditions are consistent and the fish are used to eating off the surface. It’s a different caliber of river, and it’s only available for one month out of the year. Dates fill fast — don’t wait.

You don’t have to pick up a fly rod to fall in love with a Montana river. Our scenic floats are for anyone who wants to spend a few hours drifting the Clark Fork — watching the mountains, taking in the scenery, and seeing what the river puts in front of you. Elk, osprey, river otter, black bear, beaver, and more waterfowl than you can name are all regular sightings out here. Your guide rows, you relax. We bring the charcuterie board; bring whatever you’d like to drink. It’s one of the best afternoons western Montana has to offer, and no fishing experience is required. Perfect for families, friends, or anyone looking to make a day on the water into something special.
